Providing expert tutoring services in biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science in Erin, Ontario

Tutor In Science specializes in tutoring secondary students in the natural sciences. Although I'm a biologist by training, the significant overlap in biology, chemistry, and physics, known collectively as the "pure" sciences, requires the completion of copious study hours and knowledge of all three. Environmental science as a discipline is a mix of elements from all of the pure sciences, often occurring in unique and complex systems. My teaching philosophy

As a constant learner myself, I understand the necessity of personalized, learner-guided support.

What does that mean in reference to my program?

It means I will meet my students where they are and will continually reassess their progress in order to step back, revisit, and address what they need to be successful.

So what IS success?

My goal is to help students by teasing apart all this new information to uncover actual understanding rather than simply trying to hammer rules, equations, and facts into their memories. I truly live for those "a-ha moments" when it all falls into place and suddenly it makes perfect sense. True learning follows.
