It is more important than ever to understand how humans and our activities impact the environment, locally and globally. It is crucial to also understand that the opposite is true; the state of the environment, on both a local and global scale, have an impact on human health. Awareness of current issues and ways to mitigate our impacts through sustainable agriculture, responsible waste management, and conservation of energy, is everyone's responsibility.
Whether or not a student aims to work in one of the many areas of the environmental sector (air, soil, water, natural resources, ecosystems, even animal science can fall within this realm), understanding conditions and interactions "in the wild" isn't only about getting a decent grade in your environmental science course, but let's start there, and see where it takes you!
